Free lunch program gearing up

    The North Adams Community Foodservice has announced plans to participate in the federal Summer Food Service Program.
    Free meals will be made available to all children 18 years of age and under, and to people over 18 who are in a state-apprved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.
    Locations and dates for food sites are as follows:
    • Bellmont Middle School: Monday-Thursday, May 30-July 27(closed July 2-6), will serve breakfast from 8:45-9:45 a.m. and lunch will be served Monday-Friday, from 12-1:30 p.m., through the BHS campus pool entrance.
    • Decatur Swimming Pool: Lunch will be served Monday-Friday, from 12-1 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 1-2 p.m., with snacks served from 3-4 p.m.
    • St. Marks United Methodist Church, US 224: June 4-July 27 (closed July 2-6), will serve breakfast from 8:30-9:30 a.m., and lunch from 12-1 p.m., Monday-Friday.
    • Decatur Library, 128 South Third St.: June 4-July 27 (closed July 2-6), will serve lunch from 12-1 p.m., Monday-Friday.
    • First United Methodist Church Kids First Ministries, 502 W Monroe St.: June 4-July 27 (closed July 2-6), will serve breakfast from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and lunch from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
    • Legion Park, 501 Winchester St.: June 4-July 27 (closed July 2-6), will serve lunch from 11:30-1:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
    • Northwest Elementary: June 4-June 22, will serve breakfast from 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
    • New Beginnings Family Center, 655 N 10th Street: July 23-July 27, will serve dinner from 5-6 p.m., Monday-Frriday.
    • Riverside Center, 231 E Monroe St.: Times and dates to be announced.
    • Kekionga Park: Times and dates to be announced.
