Fred A. Scheiderer

    Fred A. Scheiderer, 95, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    Born in Kenton, Ohio, on February 17, 1917, Fred was the son of the late George W. and Matilda Viola (Dyer) Scheiderer.
    He married Melba L. Kraft on February 17, 1938; she passed away on June 18, 2000.
    Fred was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Decatur and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was stationed in Bamberg, Germany. He retired from Home Dairy in Berne after more than 20 years of service.
    Among survivors are his daughters, Madge Harman of Claypool, Ind.; and Glenda Inniger of Decatur; sons, Allen (Alice) Scheiderer of Fort Wayne and Duane (Denise) Scheiderer of Lexington, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.    
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Scheiderer.
    Private family services will be held with no visitation.
    Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.
