Four Jets, two Stars named to All-ACAC boys teams

Earlier this month, the Allen County Athletic Conference revealed its two all-conference teams for the 2012-13 boys basketball season.
Four Jets and a pair of Starfires were named to the two conference teams, while Bluffton and Leo lead the way with three players each on the first team. Heritage had two players on the first team as well with Garrett, Southern Wells, and Woodlan netting just one player.
For Adams Central, stand-out seniors Dalton Combs and Isaac Luginbill were named to the first team representing the Jets who finished one game behind Bluffton and Leo who shared the ACAC regular season title.
Combs ended his career with AC eclipsing the 1,000 point mark this season including a 45-point effort against Woodlan in a double overtime thriller in December that was just two points off of the school record set by Landon Adler in 2004. Combs was also named to Hoosier Magazine's top 100 basketball players list for his stellar play this season.
Other players making Hoosier Magazine's list included New Haven's VJ Beachem, Columbia City's Drew Benedict, Homestead's Nick Gamble, Josh VanMeter from Norwell, and Trent VanHorn of Canterbury.
Luginbill was no less deadly on the offensive end performing as the Jets' secondary scoring option this season as well as a three-point threat from all around the arc.
For South Adams, senior Chase Mosser was the lone member to make first team honors as he led the Starfires in scoring and assists. In his first three games to start his senior year, Mosser averaged 27 points a game. The senior's offense carried the Stars through a rough rebuilding year after losing seven seniors who played significant minutes last season.
