Unusually cool late-July weather continues in northeast Indiana and on Sunday, Fort Wayne established a record for the coldest high temperature recorded for July 28, according to the National Weather Service in northern Indiana.
Sunday’s high temperature was 69 degrees, the weather service said, breaking the old record of 71 degrees set on July 28 in 1969 and 1925.
The Decatur weather station recorded a high of 81 degrees on Sunday and an identical high on Monday.
Lows in Decatur the past two nights have been in the low 50s.
Normal highs and lows for this time of the year are 83 and 62.
