The Flat 50 Plus bicycle Ttour of 2014, organized by Adams County’s Blazing Saddles Bicycle Club, is scheduled for 7 a.m. Saturday at Bellmont High School. The Flat 50 Plus, currently in its 24th year, offers five routes consisting of either 20, 30, 50, 62 or 100 miles throughout Adams County and the surrounding area. This year The Flat 50 Plus has added two new elements — Strava segments and chip timing to all routes.
Strava, popular with riders who have GPS-enabled cycling computers or cellular devices that record their rides, allows riders to compare their performance against other riders in those same segments. All Flat 50 Plus routes have at least one Strava segment, and longer routes will have more segments.
Same day registration fees are: adults $25, youth $10, age 5 and under free.
