Fireworks rain? Well...

July 3, 2013

Could it be that the almost-daily rains Decatur-area residents have been seeing of late are going to take a rest in time for the city's annual Fourth of July fireworks.
One thing's for sure: there is no talk of cancelling the show, as there was almost right up to the Fourth during a severe drought last year. The National Weather Service says there is a 40 percent chance of rain Thursday evening, and temperatures should be in the low 70s when the show begins.
The annual show will be held in Riverside Park behind Riverside Center and officially get under way at 6 p.m. with music provided by DJ Rick Teboe.
