Fireworks delayed

October 22, 2010

Decatur Mayor John Schultz announced today that the annual Callithumpian Fireworks show will be delayed one week due to extreme dry conditions.
The fireworks were scheduled to be held this Saturday, but have now been postponed to Halloween, Sunday, October 31, at 9 p.m.
Schultz said he and Fire Chief Les Marckel are hoping the city will get some much-needed rain before the new date.
Trick or treating will be observed that same Sunday, from 6-8 p.m., with the fireworks at 9.
