Financial picture at hospital is still rosy, officials say

Monetary figures discussed at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Adams Health Network board of trustees continued to be positive with the hospital showing a surplus of $76,268 in June.
Chief Financial Officer Dane Wheeler noted that, to date, the hospital is $966,010 in the black for the year (although more than half of that money came from a donation from the Evelyn Kauffman estate last month to the tune of $554,243). He said a surplus of $66,272 had been forecast for July in the budget, so the hospital actually was nearly $10,000 better than expected.
Wheeler pointed out that much of the surplus is due to the fact the hospital has had 403 more in-patient days (3,931 to 3,528) this year than at this point in 2013. The daily average census in July was 17.46 patients per day, a boost of 1.79 patients from July of 2013.
