Final touches put on Decatur’s open burning ordinance

November 6, 2013

Changes in Decatur’s ordinance governing burning of items within the city limits were given two rounds of approval at Tuesday night’s city council meeting, and will come up for a final vote Nov. 19.
Going over an early draft, city officials discussed updates to the ordinance at the previous meeting. Several parts of the proposal were questioned, so it went back to City Attorney Tim Baker for revisions. Those revisions were unveiled Tuesday night and satisfied members of city council.
