FIGHTING BACK AGAINST METH

October 24, 2013

The danger of “Meth in our Community” was the message presented Thursday by Sgt. Dan Mawhorr of the Indiana State Police during an informational session at Adams Memorial Hospital attended by more than 65 area residents and sponsored by the local Substance Abuse Awareness Council.
Mawhorr noted that to date, “we haven’t seen much meth in Adams County,” but “it’s coming, and it’s gonna get worse.”
Statistics he displayed bolster that statement. There were nine meth labs busted in Adams County between 2005 and 2011. Last year (2012) saw seven labs alone, and there have been 12 located so far this year.
