An altercation Tuesday morning between two male students at Bellmont High School ended with both of the combatants going through a plate glass window at the school receiving treatment at Adams Memorial Hospital for their injuries.
“The best way I can put it is that two students made some poor decisions as to how to handle a disagreement,” Superintendent of Schools Brent Lehman said Tuesday afternoon.
“I’m confident this (a trip to the hospital” was not in their plans.”
Lehman said the scuffle began shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday in the lower level of the high school building near the gymnasium entrance. The superintendent said both students suffered lacerations as a result of going through the window, although Lehman said he was not aware of the full extent of those injuries.
