July 8, 2013

The Jay County Fair in Portland opens today with Veterans Day as all veterans and everyone in their vehicles will be admitted free into the fairgrounds.
Veterans and one guest will also be admitted free to the grandstand that evening for the Michindoh Truck and Tractor Pull. Officials said veterans should be prepared to show some type of identification card to verify their status.
The fair’s midway opens with a Ride-A-Thon from 5 p.m. to closing priced at $18 per person.
