Extension Homemakers to lead the annual 4-H parade

    The Adams County Extension Homemakers are the grand marshals of the 2013 4-H Fair Parade scheduled for next Tuesday.
    In making the announcement, the Adams County Extension Office  said there is a rich history of Extension Homemakers in Adams County and currently there are 12 extension clubs with a total of 111 members who are contributing their time and efforts for local and state projects.
    The clubs are:  Root Township Club, organized in Monmouth in 1919; Kirkland Club, chartered in 1923; Better Homes, chartered in 1933; Friendship Village, organized in 1933; Happy Homemakers, chartered in 1937; Sunny Circle, organized in 1947.
    Also, French Township Club, started in 1944; Merry Mixers, started in 1954; Merrier Mondays in 1958; Caliente in 1964; Those Neighbors, organized in 1981; and Bordering Neighbors, chartered in 1995.
