Evelyn L. Aumann, 88, Decatur, passed away at 1:05 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born July 20, 1924, in Adams County, to the late Fred and Adela (Bohnke) Thieme.
On August 10, 1947, she married Lester W. Aumann in Immanuel Lutheran Church; he survives.
Evelyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church - Bingen, and a former member of the Ladies Guild of the church. She was a homemaker and a secretary for her husband’s construction business.
Among survivors are her husband of nearly 65 years, Lester W. Aumann of Decatur; a son, Thomas Aumann of Decatur; daughters Kayleen S. (Rick) Ellinger of Greensburg, Ind., and Janice (Tim) Grover of Decatur; sisters Dorothy Graft of Fort Wayne, and Bernita Harvey of Decatur; brother James R. (Carol) Thieme of Decatur; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Aumann, Kellie Hadi, Brad Aumann, Shane McBride, Chad McBride, Crista Elias, Michael Grover, Tyler Ellinger, and Zach Ellinger; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy W. and Ricky L. Aumann; one grandchild, David Aumann; a sister, Lois Graft; and a brother, Delmer Thieme.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. Visitation is also from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday at Porter Auditorium at Woodcrest Nursing Home, and one hour prior to services on Monday.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 30, at St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen, with the Rev. Peter Brock officiating.
Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery-Bingen.
