Evangeline L. Lehman

    Evangeline L. Lehman, 90, of Berne , passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Swiss Village Community Center, Berne.
    She was born on February 3, 1921, in Adams County, to Oren and Louise (Kirchhofer) Moser.
    She married Ornell Lehman on September 30, 1955. Ornell preceded her in death on January 24, 1990.
    Evangeline was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. In her earlier years she taught Sunday School and played in the Zuercher Accordion Band.
    She worked at Foodtown after graduating from Monroe High School in 1939. She was then employed at the IGA Grocery store and later as a seamstress at Berne Apparel.
    Her hobbies included needlepoint, crocheting, reading, and listening to music.
    Survivors include a brother, Virgil (Patricia) Moser, of Bluffton, along with several nieces and nephews living in various parts of the country. Three sisters-in-law also survive.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Oren and Louise Lehman; her husband, Ornell; and a brother, Howard Moser.
    Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, from 3-8 p.m. at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, in Berne.
    A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 11, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to service. Officiating will be pastors Anita Redinger and Jerry A. Flucckiger.
    Burial will be at the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
    Preferred memorials to the Swiss Village Samaritan  or Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
