Esther L. Patch, 86, of Decatur, passed away on August 10, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Adams County on April 17, 1926, to the late Marcus and Rebecca (Mason) Luginbill.
She married Jesse L. Patch on January 5, 1947; he died on November 29, 2008.
Esther was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur, where she was in The Women’s Missionary Society. She retired in 1988 after more than 20 years of service with Central Soya (Bunge) as a Research Secretary.
Among survivors are three sons, Michael (Barbara) Patch of Otterbein, Ind.; Dr. Roy (Sharon) Patch of Greer S.C.; and Tom (Diane) Patch of Decatur; a daughter, Rebecca Durnbaugh of Decatur; a brother, Floyd Luginbill of Lansing, Mich.; a sister, Floreine Graham of Keystone, Ind.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Abnet.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Whitney West officiating.
Burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to First Baptist Church.
