Elizabeth L. Macke

    Elizabeth L. "Betty" Macke, 100, of Decatur, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the Woodcrest Nursing Center.
    Betty was born May 31, 1911, to Charles and Bertha (Bleeke) Kirchner, in Adams County.
    She married William Macke on May 3, 1931; he passed away on January 5, 1990.
    Betty was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble, and was a longtime active member in the church choir.
    Among survivors are her son, Fred H. Macke, of Decatur; daughter Ruth (Curtis) Lee, of Garner, N.C.; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
    Betty was preceded in death by one daughter, Evelyn L. Oetting; one son, Richard Macke; one daughter-in-law, Dee Macke; one sister, Edna Menter; one brother, Edward Kirchner; one granddaughter, Becky Landis; and one great-granddaughter, Brooke Oetting.
    Visitation will be held Friday, February 10, from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday.
    Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, at St. Paul Lutheran Church,. with Rev. Daniel J. Brege officiating.
    Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
