Eileen R. Stauffer

    Eileen R. Stauffer, 91, Berne, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Swiss Village.
    She was born March 8, 1922, in Adams county, to the late Tilman and Elma (Lehman) Steiner. She married the late Everett N. Stauffer June 28, 1941.
    Eileen was a homemaker and helped her husband on their dairy farm for many years. She was employed in the Dietary Department at Swiss Village and enjoyed helping in the KinderHaus department. She was a member of the Berne Evangelical Church where she taught Sunday school. Special interests included quilting, knitting, gardening and loving her grand and great-grandchildren.
    Survivors include a son, Stanley Stauffer of Decatur; a daughter, Karen (Dennis) Rowell of Berne; a brother, DeWayne Steiner of Decatur; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by two sons, Loren (Doris) Stauffer and Charles (Jo) Stauffer.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Swiss Village Chapel with Pastor Kent Fahl and Pastor Anita Rediger officiating.
    Burial is in Evangelical Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Berne.
    Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday, both at the village chapel.
    Preferred memorials are to Gideons International and/or Swiss Village KinderHaus.
