    Edith L. Hicks, 71, of Berne, died at home on December 23..
    She was born to Sylvester and Margaret Hensley Hicks.
    Among survivors are a daughter, Debra Gibson of Berne; and six sons: Hubert Curtis of Geneva; Thurman Curtis of Montpelier; Hobart Curtis of Redkey; Kenneth Curtis of Bryant; Robert Curtis of Dunkirk,; and Joe M. Curtis of Bluffton; and a stepson, Robert Vredeveld.
    A memorial service will be held on January 2 in the Lighthouse Church at Portland. Services have been entrusted to M.J.S. Mortuaries' Chapel in Redkey.
