Duane (Dean) Ingmire

    Duane (Dean) Ingmire, 59, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, January 3, at his residence following a house fire.
    He was born on July 2, 1952, in Fort Wayne to Chester and Gladys (Ohneck) Ingmire.
    Mr. Ingmire was a second-shift dispatcher for the Decatur Police Department for 16 years. He was also employed by Hitchcock Concrete in Decatur and a respected firearms, tactics, and self-defense instructor for multiple law enforcement agencies and individual civilians throughout the state of Indiana.
    Dean was a member of the National Rifle Association and a former member of the Fort Wayne Lions Club.
    He is survived by his mother, Gladys Ingmire, Fort Wayne; two sons, Brian (Trina) Ingmire, Greensburg, IN; and Jeremy (Andrea) Ingmire, Westport, IN.; one brother, Dennis Ingmire, Fort Wayne; his former wife, Lettie (Eagar) Carpenter; and four grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Ingmire.
    Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, January 6, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
    A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, also at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Mo Hodge will be officiating.
    Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
    Preferred memorials can be made to the National Rifle Association Second Amendment Foundation or Supporting Heroes Inc.
