Dr. Roger Thompson is named Stephen Decatur Award winner

The Decatur Chamber of Commerce annually gives three awards to recognize outstanding community citizenship and service to the Decatur community. The awards will be presented at the chamber’s annual dinner Feb. 6 at the Knights of Columbus pavilion in Decatur. Social hour begins at 5:45 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. The cost of dinner is $25. Reservations are required and may be made by calling the chamber at 724-2604.

STEPHEN DECATUR AWARD
    Selected to receive the Stephen Decatur Award, named for the city’s namesake — naval hero Stephen Decatur — was Dr. Roger Thompson. The award is given annually for outstanding individual service.
