Dorothea Thieme

    Dorothea Thieme, 94, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 8:32 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
    Dorothea was born on Friday, September 27, 1918, in Allen County, to the late Carl and Mary (Heine) Boese.
    She married Herman F. Thieme at Emmanuel Lutheran Church-Soest; he passed away in June of 1989.
    Dorothea was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Decatur.
    Among survivors are two daughters, Phyllis Thieme and Gloria (Herbert W.) Masenthin, both of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Mary Boese of Fort Wayne; grandson, Timothy (Kimberly) Masenthin of Grafton, Wisc.; granddaugther, Sarah (John) Weber of Decatur; and five great-grandchildren, Caleb Masenthin, Toby Masenthin, Hannah Weber, Naomi Weber, and Gideon Weber.
    Dorothea was preceded in death by two sisters, Frieda Haugk and Hilda Dressler; and four brothers, Edwin, Arnold, Carl, and William Boese.
    Visitation was held Sunday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, and today at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8538 N. 500 E., Decatur. Funeral services were held this morning at the church, with Pastor David Koeneman officiating.
    Burial followed in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Worship For Shut-Ins, or donor's choice.
