Donald W. Borne, 90, of rural Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012, at his home.
He was born on September 25, 1921, in Adams County to the late Albert and Loretta (Koldeway) Borne.
Donald worked as a farmer before retiring in the fall of 2011, milked cows for Allen Dairy, and also worked at General Electric for 34 years before retiring in 1985.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Among survivors are his children, Gerald (Linda) Borne of Ossian; Dale (Kelly) Borne of Fort Wayne; Cheryl (Paul) Brosher of Hilliard, Ohio; Carolyn (Steve) Loggins of Fort Wayne; twin brother Darold (Eileen) Borne of Monroe; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (Wyss) Borne, in March of 2010; and his half-sister, Helen Hemmelgarn.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 29, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with a rosary service at 6 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m. today at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder, Ind.
Burial was in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Yoder. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home or for Masses. Online condolences, may be left at www.elzey-patterson rodakfuneralhome.com.
