Donald C. Barkley

    Donald C. Barkley, 81, of Decatur, died at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday in Adams Memorial Hospital after an illness lasting one year.
    He was born on January 14, 1930, in Allen County to Alpha M. and Florence A. Foust Barkley.
    He married Linda L. Smalley on October 24, 1958, in rural Berne; she survives.
    He retired as an auto salesman for Morningstar Auto Sales in Decatur following many years of service. He was  a member of Mt. Zion United Brethren Church.
    Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Linda L. Barkley; one daughter, Alice McCauley of Paulding, Ohio; two sons, Perry D. Barkley of Decatur and Jerry T. Barkley (and wife Sheree) of Berne; three grandchildren,, Mrs. Brian (Carla) Morris, Cory Hileman, and Grace Barkley; and one great-grandson, Keller Morris.
    He was preceded in death by his brother, David A, Barkley, on December 15, 2010.
    Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Pastor Robert Shook officiating.
    Burial will be in Mohr Cemetery of Van Wert County, Ohio.
    Visiting hours are 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
    Preferred memorials are to Mt. Zion United Brethren Church or to the donor's choice.
