Delores E. Landis

    Delores E. Landis, 88, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
    Delores was born October 30, 1924, in Adams County to the late Victor and Alta (Barger) Byerly.
    She married Harvey E. Landis on June 21, 1947; he died on August 20, 1990.
    Delores was member of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren, where she was active in the life of the church and enjoyed taking care of children in the church’s nursery. She also loved caring for her grandchildren. Delores worked in the family business, Landis Farm Drainage, and she was also a homemaker.
    Among survivors are four sons, Steve (Mary Ann) Landis of Bluffton, Robin (Cheryl) Landis, Randy (Debbie) Landis, and Tony (Susan) Landis, all of Decatur; brother, Wayne (Edith) Byerly of Decatur; two sisters, Joan (Loren) Liechty and Barbara (Robert) Nussbaum, both of Berne; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
    Delores was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Byerly, and a sister, Marjorie Byerly.
    Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, also at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Jay Carter.
    Burial will be in Pleasant Dale Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
