DeKalb brought their shovels with them on Wednesday night as the offense buried the Squaws for 18 hits and 11 runs in an NHC clash at the Teepee, 11-1.
In all, 44 batters came to the plate against Bellmont. The Lady Barons started hot right from the start as Maddy Fifer belted a single to centerfield that set the tone.
The Barons were hitting the ball hard all over the diamond against the Squaws and the game would have gotten even further out of hand had DeKalb not stranded so many runners on base (12).
Despite three hits, DeKalb, now 8-8 and 4-1 in the NHC, would not score in the first inning stranding a pair of runners. A quiet second would keep the game scoreless as well.
The third inning was a different story as four runs came home for DeKalb as they brought nine batters to the plate in the process.
