Decatur resident wins $1 million lotto prize

April 3, 2014

INDIANAPOLIS — It never occurred to Michelle Hutker that she might be a Powerball winner.
The Decatur resident, who admits she is not a regular Hoosier Lottery player, struck it big when she won $1 million in the March 19 Powerball drawing. She said she was oblivious to all the speculation in town about who had the winning ticket and, in fact, held her ticket for a week before checking it.
Hutker, a fifth-grade teacher, said the win is all about her family — including, her husband of 14 years, Dax, and their two children, ages 13 and 18.
