Decatur makes the cut

March 20, 2014

Indiana Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann on Wednesday announced the city of Decatur and five other Indiana communities have been named as finalists for the 2014 Stellar Communities Program grants.
In addition to Decatur, finalists included the cities of Huntington, Marion, Mount Vernon and Wabash and the town of Nashville.
The communities were selected from 14 applications by the staffs at the Office of Community and Rural Affairs, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority and the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Each finalist community will receive $10,000 to prepare an in-depth Strategic Investment Plan, and will have a site visit by the selection team. Two of the finalists will be announced as this year’s Stellar Communities later this summer.
