Decatur home heavily damaged in blaze

The Decatur Fire Department was dispatched around 5 p.m. Tuesday to the home of Marie Miller, 6025N S.R. 101, in response to a house fire. Thick smoke was pouring from the home when firefighters arrived, according to a spokesman for the department. Crews from Monroe and Preble Fire Departments in Indiana, as well as crews from Wren and Convoy in Ohio, assisted in the blaze, which caused heavy damage to the home, according to the spokesman. No injuries were reported and crews returned to the station around 11 p.m.
