Decatur council makes 2014 appointments

    Decatur City Council’s final meeting of 2013 this week brought about the usual year-end re-appointments, plus one new appointment.
    The new appointment saw council naming semi-retired funeral home director Dave Haggard to replace Don Tuszynski on the Board of Zoning Appeals. Tuszynski resigned in November.
    “Don has been on a long time and did a nice job for the city; we really appreciate what he did,” Mayor John Schultz said.
    Haggard’s appointment is for one year.
    A new member is needed for the Decatur Redevelopment Commission as Brent Arnold has asked to leave the board. Council will make that appointment when someone is found for the post.
