Dean R. Singleton, 64, Decatur, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born Tuesday, May 2, 1950, in Decatur, the son of the late Everett Clark and Helen Marie (Hoover) Singleton.
He married Tamara K. Baumgartner Nov. 2, 2007, in Decatur; she survives.
Dean graduated from Monmouth High School in 1968. He loved collecting Indian artifacts, making things from wood and reading. He loved the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University Hoosiers. Dean was a great husband, father and grandfather.
He worked 16 years at Universal Metalcraft in Decatur.
Surviving are two sons, Craig Singleton of Fort Wayne and Clint (Priya) Singleton of Indianapolis; three daughters, Julie (Scott) Singleton-Manogg of Columbus, Ohio, and Sarah Singleton and Lauren Singleton, both of Indianapolis; a step-daughter, Casey (Jerry) Hawkins of Lebanon, Tenn.; a step-son, Jesse (Jessica) Smith of Decatur; five grandchildren, Christian Singleton, Zac Manogg, Kaiden Asche, Kavya Singleton and Kali Asche; and two step-granddaughters, Alana Peterson and Jocelyn Hawkins.
Preceding Dean in death were two brothers, James and David Singleton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
Internment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to ACCF-Strickler Cancer Institute.
