Before the Hall of Fame festivities, the Cross Country Men's League playoffs were held. The Monday league champion Democrat team edged out Thursday champs, Hometown Healthcare, 6-4 to take the league title. In the A spot, Mike Macke beat Dr. Mike Ainsworth 83 (net 81) to 84. At position B, Jared Friedt shot an 81 (net 78) beating out Scott Ainsworth's 79. AJ Kalver nipped Marty Simonson, 78 (net 77) to 78.
Hometown's sole winner and medalist of the day, Ron Baker, shot a 77 to beat Kent Arnold who shot a 91 (net 86). Baker's margin of victory was enough to boost Hometown to four points but it would not be enough to pull out the win. In two of the matches, the DDD was down going into the final hole but still managed to pull out the victory.
On Saturday, the league's semi-finals were decided with Democrat topping Double Eagle, 8-2, and Hometown edging BCI Remodeling 6-4.
In the Monday night league showdown, Mike Macke, 74, beat Dave Lanham, 90, AJ Kalver beat Shane Cauble who had an 86, and Neil Slusher's 88 beat Jason Kreigh's 103 (net 98). Jeff Kreigh (83) beat Kyle Eichenauer (net 93) for Double Eagle's only victory.
In the Thursday league final, Jim Manley (72, net 68) defeated Dr. Ainsworth (72), and Jeff Bauermeister (80, net 77) notched BCI wins. Scott Ainsworth's 77 beat Steve Pilkington's 82 (net 81) and Ron Baker's 80 won over Greg Litchfield's 89 (net 88). Hometown won by seven sealing their spot in Sunday's finals.
In the Sunday League finals scramble, Shifferly Dodge won the scratch event and Tri-Tec Systems won the Net event.
