As is the case each year on the first Thursday in May, a noon gathering was held yesterday in Adams County to celebrate the National Day of Prayer. This year’s event, conducted by the Decatur Ministerial Association, attracted approximately 30 local residents who gathered in front of the Peace Monument at the county courthouse to hear prayers for the community and nation. Dr. Robert Brink of the Decatur Church of God, above, offered opening remarks and said, “In a world of conflict and communities experiencing relational strife, our need is great. We are called before the Lord to repent, confess and commit ourselves to seek God’s direction and receive His courage and help.” Members of American Legion Post 43 presented the colors.
