David E. Moore

    David E. Moore, 83, of Bluffton, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Ossian Health Care.
    David was born in Decatur on March 17, 1930, to John E. and Helena L. (Aughenbaugh) Moore.
    He married Rita A. Osterman on June 5, 1954, in Decatur. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2012.
    David graduated from Decatur High School in 1948. He was a United States Navy Veteran, having served our country during the Korean War. David was a sales and marketing executive for 44 years. In his later years, he worked in security for Bluffton Motor Works.
    He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a life member of the Knights of Columbus, a former member of American Legion Post 111 and a former member and past-president of the Decatur Rotary Club.
    Among survivors are a son, Phillip D. (Linda) Moore of Fort Wayne; three daughters, Teresa A. (Nick) Camacho of Hobart, Nancy A. (Dwight) Baker and Julia A. Tobias, both of Bluffton; granddaughter, Mercedes (Brian) Moore of Chicago, Ill.; grandson, Jaden Camacho of Hobart; and great-granddaughter, Blakely Grace Moore of Chicago, Ill.
    It was David’s wish to be cremated. His family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home, and from 9-10 a.m. Monday, April 8, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur.
    A funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, also at the church, with Father Dave Voors officiating.
    Burial will be in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion with full military honors.
