David A. Barkley

    David Alpha Barkley, 83, of Sevierville, Tennessee, formerly of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010.
    He was born on August 19, 1927, in Monroeville to Alpha Barkley and Florence (Foust) Barkley.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jovetta Barkley. 
    David was the owner and operator of Barkley Tires in Wears Valley, Tennessee, and attended Valley View Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his second wife, Beverly Barkley of Sevierville; a daughter, Lovetta (Donnie) Spangler of Sevierville; a daughter, Cathy (Tim) Rimel of Sevierville; a brother, Donald (Linda) Barkley of Decatur; three grandchildren: Joshua, Kaitlin, and Luke Rimel; and several nieces and nephews.
    The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday in Valley View Baptist Church at Wears Valley. Funeral services were conducted following visitation at 7 p.m.. with Rev. Preston Joslin officiating.
    The family will  receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, followed by a committal service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Bob Shook officiating.
    Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Rockford, Ohio.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at Valley View Baptist Church, 2219 Little Cove Rd., Sevierville, Tennessee, 37862-8519.
