Darlene K. Johnson

    Darlene K. Johnson, 64, Decatur, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Chalet Village in Berne.
    She was born in Decatur on December 22, 1948, to the late Verlyn R. and  Helen I. Geyer. She graduated from Adams Central High School in 1968 and Parisian Beauty College in 1976. She was an Avon Representative since 2011, had previously sold Mary Kay Cosmetics and was a beautician.
    Darlene was a member of the Decatur Church of God where she was a past youth leader and she helped with the children's choir at Cleveland Street Church of God. She was the head of Cake Decorator's Club for 4-H in LaGrange. .
    Among survivors are a son, Shawn C. (Jenny) Geyer of Berne; two grandsons, Colby J. Cauble of Angola and PFC Zachary Grabau of Fort Sill, Okla.; a step-son, Rick A. (Kelly) Johnson of Hoagland; two step-daughters, Molly Rose Johnson and Madison Johnson; former husband, Rex A. Johnson of Hoagland; and two brothers, Edwin Geyer of Decatur and Roger A. Geyer of New Haven.
    She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Lydia and Eli Geyer; and maternal grandparents, Jess and Frances (Heller) Michaud.
    Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Monday in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home and one hour to prior to service at the Decatur Church of God.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with Pastor Sandy Hildebrand and Pastor Jerry Mitchel officiating.
    Burial will take place at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Bluffton.
    Preferred memorials are to Decatur Church of God or the ACCF Angel Fund.
