Adams County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Anya Pinkerton has announced a major change in crop acreage reporting dates for the 2013 crop year.
All fall-seeded small grains must now be reported by Dec. 15.
“In past years, producers had until July 15 to report their acreage for wheat and other small grains,” said Pinkerton “The new reporting date is much sooner than the prior deadline, so we encourage producers to make an appointment to stop by and file a crop report.”
All fall-seeded small grain acreage must be reported by December 15. For 2012, the reports will be accepted up until December 17 as December 15 falls on a weekend.
Pinkerton said the change in crop acreage reporting dates was the result of a combined effort of FSA and the Risk Management Agency (RMA) to make acreage reporting easier and standardized for crop insurance and FSA purposes. Reporting acreage ensures producers are compliant with current and future FSA farm programs, including disaster assistance.
