Crash claims mother of two young daughters

February 22, 2013

The Adams County Sheriff's Department released details today of the 6:09 a.m. Thursday single-vehicle accident in Preble Township that resulted in the driver of a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero being killed.
Police said Alexandria R. (Lexy) Pharr, 23, 17th Street, Decatur, was on her way to work in Ossian and was westbound on C.R. 900N near C.R. 550W when her vehicle suddenly went left of center.
The car entered some gravel on the south side of the road, but Pharr overcorrected and swerved right and then back left. That action caused the car to slide sideways out of control and it entered a ditch.
Upon entering the ditch, the car rolled over four times according to the police report, and officers said Pharr was ejected from the vehicle on the third roll.
The report said the Bellmont High School graduate suffered internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Coroner Leslie Cook said this morning that an autopsy performed in Fort Wayne Thursday showed blunt trauma to be the cause of death.
Funeral services are pending at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home for the mother of two daughters, one almost two years old and the other five months old. The crash victim was employed at Ossian Meat Market.
