Courthouse project is shelved

November 13, 2013

It’s official. The Adams County courthouse and superior court building projects have been put on hold.
The Adams County Council voted unanimously Tuesday morning to table the projects, with the move precipitated by the recent exploding population numbers at the Adams County jail.
On a motion from Councilor Tony Mellenkamp, seconded by Dennis Bluhm, the council voted to delay moving forward with the court and courthouse projects at the present time and instead concentrate on including or incorporating plans for a new county jail into future discussions.
