By REBEKAH R. BLOMENBERG
Adams Circuit Court Judge Chad Kukelhan presented the State of the Judiciary address for the first time on Monday.
He said that he was amazed by all the lives touched by the court, and he added, "The judge is never bigger than the court, and the court is never bigger than the people it serves."
Kukelhan thanked the Indiana Judicial Center for the judges training he has received there, and some of the excellent connections he made. He also thanked his staff — Vickie Hammond, Nan Johnson, Kari Burkholder, and Tammie Wetter, as well as Superior Court Judge Patrick Miller — for helping to make the transition a smooth one.
Kukelhan had never before served as a judge before taking over January 1, He was elected to the position last November.
