County snow removal plans for season are outlined

November 26, 2013

With colder weather effecting road conditions in the local area, Adams County Highway Department Superintendent Mark Mitchel reported plans for snow removal for this winter season to the Adams County Commissioners at their regularly-scheduled Monday afternoon meeting in the service complex.
Noting that while “each storm is different,” Mitchel informed commissioners his department will “try to get out earlier this year; about 5 p.m.” if conditions warrant such a response.
Of course, “we’re not going to be out there chasing the first couple of snow flakes,” he stated, adding that often, “we have to wait a few hours to see what happens” before dispatching snow removal equipment to various areas of the county.
