Mark Wynn, a member of Berne City Council and the Adams County director of Building/Planning and Zoning, was upgraded to “serious” condition this morning at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where he was transported Wednesday after reportedly being found unresponsive in his home.
According to the social media site Facebook, Wynn was initially taken to Adams Memorial Hospital due to internal bleeding. He was transported to Lutheran Hospital, where surgery was performed to insert a stint in an attempt to stop the bleeding. According to a Facebook report from family members, Wynn lost “a lot of blood” and by Thursday morning had received 15 blood product transfusions.
A message from Wynn’s wife early this morning indicated some improvement: “Mark seems to be doing a little better. The CT scan they did (Thursday) afternoon did not show any new bleeds and the artery they fixed looked good. His blood pressure seems to be more stable right now. It’s still not great but it’s ok. He is still sedated and intubated. His nurse is happy with his little bits of progress so that makes me feel better too. Thank you for all the prayers.”
