County native wins prestigious math honor

    An Adams County native and current profession at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne was the recent recipient of a prestigious award presented by the Mathematical Association of America.
    Lowell Beineke, Schrey Professor of Mathematics at IPFW, was named as one of the 2014 recipients of the Certificate for Meritorious Service from the MAA.
    Beineke, a graduate of Monmouth High School, was cited for his decades of service to the MAA and its Indiana section, and also for his term as editor of the College Mathematics Journal.
