County middle schoolers want to raise money to build a school in Africa

    Class projects are nothing new, but seventh grade students at Adams Central, Bellmont and South Adams middle schools have set an admirable goal for the 2013-14 school year: Raise $22,000 to build a school in Africa.
    Four students from Adams Central met with that school’s board of education Tuesday night to explain their idea and garner support not only from the board, but from the community and business owners as well. Jaxson Rinkenberger, Jalen Hammond, Rachel Fiechter and Lauren Isch approached the board with a presentation of the research they’ve gathered regarding the situation of children in Africa — namely, the lack of food and school facilities for children.
