County jobless rate in slight dip

    Unemployment in Adams County dipped slightly to 8.5 percent during February, according to figures released Friday by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
    The county posted an 8.8 percent jobless rate in January when those figures were released just 10 days ago. One year ago, in February of 2012, the county's unemployment rate was at 8.3 percent.
    Friday's report showed that 1,218 members of the county's workforce of 14,383 remained without work during the year's second month.
    February jobless figures for other counties in northeast and east-central Indiana included: Jay, 8.5 percent; Wells, 8.3; Huntington, 9.2; Allen, 8.9; Whitley, 9.2; Noble, 9.7 and DeKalb, 9.4 percent.
