County FSA lacks fulltime head

May 2, 2013

The Adams County Farm Service Agency office is currently without a director, and will be for the foreseeable future, according to Indiana FSA Director Julia Wickard.
A hiring freeze that has been in place at the federal level since December of 2012 prevents the United States Department of Agriculture from filling the vacancy, Wickard said.
The state director said Adams is not the only county in Indiana to currently be without a full-time director.
Former Adams County FSA Executive Director Anya Pinkerton left her position "about a month ago," according to FSA District Director Tom Shepherd.
