County agrees to pay $550,000 in pedestrian death lawsuit settlement

Bud E. Case,72, Decatur, whose wife, Beverly, was killed in a car-pedestrian accident in Decatur in September of 2013, has been awarded $550,000 from the Adams County Sheriff’s Department and $100,000 from one of its employees as part of an out-of-court settlement of a lawsuit alleging negligence in Beverly Case’s death.
    Mrs. Case died Sept. 18, 2013, one day after she was struck while attempting to cross Monroe Street, near its intersection with 5th Street, as a pedestrian.
