County ADA compliance mostly complete

March 22, 2013

Adams County Engineer Tim Barkey, as ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) coordinator for the county, said at this week's commissioners meeting that sidewalks at intersections are supposed to have curb ramps.
Four of these ramps are needed in the Chapel Chase subdivision, but that is the only county-owned location that needs to have them added, according to Barkey. He expects the project to cost approximately $4,500 and asked where the money should come from.
The commissioners moved to pay for the project from the unincorporated area of the budget and requested Barkey to get three contractors to bid on the project.
