It's that time of year again: for appointments by the Adams County Commissioners.
At Monday's meeting, the three elected executives voted unanimously to rename 23 people to local positions and to name two new people to other posts.
Both new appointees, Max Beer and Rex King, were named to the Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals.
Mark Mitchel will continue as county highway superintendent with Shaun Roe remaining as his assistant. Tim Barkey is staying on as county engineer and Neil Ogg as plan commission director and building inspector .
John August was named to a new term as county Emergency Management Agency director, Larry Weaver as weights and measures inspector and Steve Krull as county grounds and facilities manager.
The county attorney position will continue to be held by Decatur attorney Mark Burry and Vince Quinones gets a new term as the county's veterans service officer.
Also reappointed were the following:
Drainage board secretary: Patricia Lengerich.
County plat book technician: Mike Werling.
County veterans' service officer: Vince Quinones.
Community and Family Service board: Tom Brunstrup.
Alcoholic Beverage Board: John P. Kintz.
District Three advisory board for emergency management: John August, Les Marckel, and Ed Ford.
County Regional Sewer District Board: Barry Ehinger.
Adams Memorial Hospital Board: Dennis Bieberich.
County Plan Commission: Kevin Burkholder.
Geneva Plan Commission: John Pyle.
County Health Board: Charles Tooley.
Adams Public Library Board: Bill Hubbard.
Adams County Hospital Association: Kathryn Strickler and James Briggs.
At the same meeting, Weights and Measures inspector Weaver reported that, from November 16 to December 15, he inspected 59 scales and approved all of them and also weighed 27 packages and approved 26 of them.
