Commish in Lutheran ICU after surgery

July 22, 2014

Adams County Commissioner Kim Fruechte is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne following emergency surgery to stop bleeding of his kidney. County Commission President Doug Bauman gave the news surrounding Fruechte’s medical condition immediately prior to Monday morning’s meeting of the Adams County Solid Waste Management District.
Bauman said Fruechte returned from vacation approximately one week ago and was complaining of not feeling well. He was taken to Lutheran Hospital by his wife and was found to be losing “a lot of blood around the kidney,” Bauman said.
Fruechte reportedly lost “a considerable amount of blood” before the surgery was performed. Bauman said he had not received an update Monday morning on his fellow commissioner’s condition.
